Knee Injuries

Knee injuries are especially common among athletes, though many others suffer them, as well. Dr. Wright uses minimally invasive surgical techniques to treat knee injuries that don’t respond to other remedies. With small incisions and specially designed instruments, he’ll examine and repair the damaged tissue.

He treats:

  • Internal derangement: Internal derangement is damage to the inside of the knee. This includes tears of the meniscus, tears of the ligaments, synovitis (inflammation), or damage to the articular cartilage. Dr. Wright will help you pinpoint the source of your injury and determine the best course of treatment.
  • Strains and sprains: Knee strains and sprains occur when one of the ligaments that connect the bones of the upper and lower legs is damaged. Treatment depends on the severity and location of the injury.
  • Sports injuries: The knee is one of the most frequently injured joints among athletes, and swift treatment is essential to preventing further damage. Many knee injuries can be treated non-surgically, while others require surgery to restore full functionality.
  • Arthritis: Arthritis of the knee generally develops over time, causing swelling, pain, and weakness. Early treatments are typically non-surgical, though surgery may be required to relieve the pain.
