Before Your Surgery

Our office staff will work with your insurance company to authorize you for the procedure, and we’ll do our best to schedule your surgery as quickly as possible.

Depending on your age and your overall physical health, you may need to report to the hospital or your primary care physician for pre-surgical testing. This helps us keep you safe on the day of your surgery, and we’ll work with you to make sure you get the tests you need.

How long will I be in the hospital?
Most of the surgeries Dr. Wright performs are ambulatory, which means you’ll be in and out of the hospital on the same day.

Please remember:

  1. Do not eat or drink after midnight on the night before your surgery.
  2. Discontinue any anti-inflammatory or aspirin therapy you are on one week before your surgery. Dr. Wright will give you a list of other drugs, herbs, and substances to avoid.*
  3. A friend or family member must be available to take you home after surgery.

* If you’re currently taking cardiac medication, please consult with your cardiologist before scheduling your surgery.
